10-Piece Miniature End Mill Set
|
|
Miniature end mills — typically with a cutting diameter under 3/16 inch, offer precision, versatility, and access to complex geometries that larger tools cannot achieve. - Precision in Compact Areas - This makes them ideal for small slot cutting, engraving, and delicate geometries
- Finer Surface Finish - Smaller cutting diameters allow for higher surface quality with less need for post-processing, reducing waste and improving
part consistency
- Complex Geometry Capability - Miniature end mills can navigate narrow channels, tight radii, and intricate contours that larger tools simply cannot access.
This 10-piece HSS miniature end mill set Includes both 2 flute end mills and 4 flute end mills. They are double ended, center cutting end mills.
The set includes: 1/16", 3/32", 1/8", 5/32", and 3/16” end mills. All end mills have 3/16" shank.
The set comes in a wood stand.

Chris' Tips
Conventional wisdom is that 2-flute end mills are used on aluminum, while 4-flute end mills are used on steel and brass.
2-flute end mills are used on aluminum because aluminum is easy to machine and you can take big cuts. Two-flute end mills provide a lot of room between the flutes for the big chips produced when making heavy cuts.
4-flute end mills can produce a slightly better finish at the same cutting speeds because there are twice as many cutting edges, each taking off half as much material. But again, if you are not trying to maximize production, you can simply slow the feed rate with a 2-flute end mill for the same effect.
