Special of the Week: Tooling/Fixture Plate (12" x 6")

Last week, we spent a few days at IMTS in Chicago. It’s one of the largest trade shows in the industry, with a strong focus on CNC equipment for larger shops, automation, and, of course, this year, AI seemed to be everywhere. Attending gives us a valuable opportunity to see where the industry is headed, reconnect with people we know, meet with current suppliers, and often discover future suppliers as well.

While we were there, we received the news that Sherline was shutting down. As we built LittleMachineShop.com, Sherline was always a company we looked to as a benchmark for our own products and efforts. We frequently crossed paths at shows such as Cabin Fever and NAMES, and we also carried several of their products.

I understand the challenges they faced and the difficult decision they ultimately had to make, but it is disappointing, nonetheless. Sherline was a good company with good people and quality products. They made a lasting contribution to the hobby machining community and will be missed.

6" x 12" Tooling Plate

Solid 6" x 12" aluminum tooling plate with 1/4"-20 tapped holes, clamping kit, and locating pins.

1 - Tooling plate, 6" x 12"
4 - Clamp bars 2-3/8" long
4 - Step blocks 1" tall
4 - 1/4" x 3/4" locating pins
4 - 1/4"-20 x 1/2" socket head cap screws
4 - 1/4"-20 x 3/4" socket head cap screws
4 - 1/4"-20 x 1" socket head cap screws

There are 220 1/4"-20 tapped holes. There are 55 diamond patterns of 4 holes that are 3/8" C to C. The diamond patterns are on a 1" x 1" grid. There are 72 1/4" holes for locating pins on a 1" x 1" grid. At each end there is a counterbored hole for a 3/8" socket head cap screw.
